- What happens if I cancel a paid site?
- It stays live until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Then the custom domain detaches and the site returns to an unpublished draft — nothing is deleted, and you can republish whenever you like.
- Do I need a credit card to start?
- No. The free tier — two demo sites on a widweb.com subdomain — needs no payment details at all. You only add a card when you connect a custom domain to a site.
- Who owns my content?
- You do, entirely. Your text, images, and branding stay yours; we only store and serve them to run your site. Leave whenever you want.
- Why are Widweb sites so fast?
- Because published sites are compiled to plain static files served from a CDN. There is no database, no server code, and nothing to break or slow down between your visitor and your page.
- Will my site change when Widweb updates?
- No. Widgets are versioned, and your published site keeps the versions you published it with until you republish. The only exception we allow ourselves is a critical security fix.
- How do refunds work?
- If Widweb is not working out, email us within 14 days of the first charge for a site and we refund it in full. Renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel anytime and keep the site live to the end of the period. See the refund policy for details.
- How do I cancel?
- Self-serve, from your dashboard, in two clicks — the same place you subscribed. No emails to write, no retention calls. You get a confirmation email when it is done.
- What about my visitors’ privacy?
- Published Widweb sites set no cookies and load no trackers from us. Your visitors get a fast page, not a consent banner.
- Am I locked in?
- No. Your content and your domain are yours. Cancel whenever you want and point your DNS wherever you like next — nothing about a Widweb site ties you to us.
- Do I have to transfer my domain? Will my email break?
- No and no. Your domain stays at your registrar — you only point its website records at Widweb, and we show you exactly which ones, step by step. Mail records stay untouched, so your email keeps working.
