Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 August 2026

These terms are a contract between you and Widweb, operated by Sarp Egemen, 20 Avenue Albert Einstein, 69621 Villeurbanne, France (“Widweb”, “we”). By creating an account or using widweb.com you agree to them. Widweb is intended for business and professional use; if you use it for a company, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf.

1. The service

Widweb is a website builder. You compose pages from prebuilt widgets and publish them as fast, static websites. We host the editor, compile and serve published sites, manage custom domains, and deliver contact-form submissions to you by email.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Widweb. Keep your sign-in credentials confidential; activity under your account is your responsibility. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You must be at least 16 years old.

3. Free tier

The free tier lets you build and publish up to two demo sites on a Widweb subdomain, without a custom domain. Demo sites are for evaluation and staging. We may reclaim demo sites that stay inactive for an extended period, after notice to your account email.

4. Paid sites and billing

  • Connecting a custom domain to a site requires a paid subscription for that site: US$9.99 per site per month, billed monthly in advance. There is no account-level fee — you pay only for sites you publish on a custom domain.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices exclude any taxes we are required to collect, which are itemised at checkout.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price change; changes apply from your next renewal.
  • Optional paid add-ons (per-site modules or account upgrades) may be offered; their price is always shown before you buy.
  • If a payment fails we retry and email you. After a 14-day grace period an unpaid site is unpublished — your content is kept and the site returns to draft status.

5. Cancellation

Cancel any site’s subscription at any time from the dashboard. The site stays live until the end of the paid period, then its custom domain is detached and the site returns to unpublished draft status. Your content is not deleted — you can republish later or keep it as a demo site within free-tier limits.

6. Refunds

If Widweb is not working out, email support@widweb.com within 14 days of the first charge for a site and we will refund that charge in full. Renewal charges are not refundable, but you can cancel any time and keep the site live until the period ends. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this policy operates alongside — and does not limit — your statutory rights. To request a refund, write to support@widweb.com from your account email with the site’s name; refunds go back to the original payment method.

Disputes. If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first at support@widweb.com. Billing disputes are almost always fastest to fix directly, and we respond within a few business days. If you raise a chargeback with your card issuer, we will provide Stripe with the relevant subscription records.

7. Your content

Everything you put into your sites — text, images, branding — remains yours. You grant us the licence needed to store, compile, and serve it as your website. You are responsible for having the rights to what you publish and for your site’s compliance with the laws that apply to you and your visitors.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use Widweb to:

  • publish unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or deceptive content;
  • impersonate others, phish, or distribute malware;
  • send spam or operate sites for fraudulent schemes;
  • probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or resell it without our agreement.

We may suspend or remove sites that violate these rules, with notice where practical. We act on abuse reports sent to support@widweb.com.

9. Our platform

Widweb’s software, widgets, and designs are our intellectual property; we grant you a non-exclusive licence to use them through the service while you have an account. Widgets are versioned: your published site does not change unless you republish it. The one exception is security — we may recompile a published site to apply a critical security fix.

10. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee. We may add, change, or retire features; if a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will give reasonable notice by email.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time, which cancels remaining subscriptions. Your content remains exportable for 30 days after closure, then it is deleted in line with the Privacy Policy’s retention schedule. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or create legal or security risk for the service, with notice where practical.

12. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost profits, revenue, or data), and our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Indemnity

You will cover us against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these terms.

14. Data processing on your behalf

If your site collects visitor form submissions, we process them as your processor under GDPR Article 28: only on your instructions and only to run spam checks and deliver submissions to you. We keep them confidential, secure them as described in the Privacy Policy, use only the subprocessors listed there (we will notify account emails before adding one), delete submissions per the retention schedule or when your account closes, and give reasonable help with data-subject requests and breach notifications concerning them. This section is the data processing agreement between us.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will notify your account email at least 14 days in advance; continuing to use Widweb after that means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, and disputes are subject to the courts of Lyon. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections granted by the mandatory law of your country of residence.
